Keep the system small

A useful freelance stack usually covers a few basics: a place for project notes, a reliable calendar, a clear way to share files and a method for tracking invoices or payments. Adding more tools is not automatically an improvement.

Choose the source of truth

Decide where the current brief, next action and client decision will live. When information is spread across email, chat and personal notes, small misunderstandings become expensive to untangle.

Review the workflow after a project

After delivery, note where the process created friction. A simple template, checklist or named folder can solve a recurring problem more effectively than a new subscription.
